The LEED-certified building was constructed using almost entirely recycled material. Cleanscapes, which provides garbage service in Shoreline, dumps material here daily. The material is modified and sent to a landfill in Maple Valley. King County residents can drop recycling here as well. The transfer station is one of eight in King County serving 39 cities. It's open every day except Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Year's Day.
