The Institute for Sustainable Development has developed two guides to the green economy for entrepreneurs and incumbent small businesses.

Make My Business Greener: Opportunities to Save Money by Going Green offers clear guidelines with simple illustrations and lots of visual appeal. They also include examples of specific companies that have been able to reduce costs for Waste Management, Energy and Water resources while capitalizing on the loyalty that customers show to businesses that “go green.”

The Institute for Sustainable Development is part of Green Plus based in the Eastern United States, but the basic information provided is applicable nation wide. For information that includes local programs business can take advantage of look no further than the Shoreline Green Business Program website.

Companies that create their own account on our website and complete the online checklist are contacted for a site visit. During the visit our volunteers can determine if your business can benefit from specific programs available in the region, listen to your concerns and make further suggestions. Businesses that earn a certification can use our logo in their promotional materials.
