Reinventing Fire

Reinventing Fire is a new book out by Amory Lovins of Rocky Mountain Institute. Two events in Washington of interest listed.

Amory Lovins Co-founder and chief scientist at Rocky Mountain Institute has come out with a new book "Reinventing Fire, Bold Business Solutions for the New Energy Era."

The term "Reinventing Fire" implies a methodology of meeting our energy needs that is no less a game changer than when man was first able to harness fire for their own purposes.

"Whether you care most about profits and jobs, or national security, or environmental stewardship, climate, and health, Reinventing Fire makes sense and makes money."

A provocative summary of the new book has some interesting data. Much of what is said has been stated before but not in such strong positive terms.

"By Reinventing Fire, efficiency and renewables can end our addiction to fossil fuels, create the core industries of the new energy era, generate $5 trillion in new economic value, and enhance resilience and security. The best news: businesses who are ready to lead this transition can become more profitable and resilient."

"Bottom line, it's all about the numbers: $5 trillion net in savings and support a 158% bigger U.S. economy by 2050, using no energy from coal, oil or nuclear. "

The Infographic alone is worth reviewing.

Colorado is not the only place to go for information on shifting off of fossil fuel. In Washington State a couple events are coming up that anyone interested in energy efficiency in the built environment will want to consider attending.
Check out these events and mark your calendars. Perhaps I will see you at both!
