It's a Dog's Life: An Introduction
"It's a Dog's Life" is a blog about the adventures of a service dog named Cinnamon, who lives out his life in S Snohomish and N King counties. He is the official Patch Puppy for Shoreline-LFP.
Hello readers: My name is Tu-Ha. I have a puppy dog named Cinnamon. This Wednesday, July 18th, Cinnamon will be 17 weeks old. Cinnamon was born on March 21st. He is a wonderful blend of Japanese Chin, Maltese, Pomeranian, Terrier Border Mix, Havanese, Shih Tzu as well as multiple guesses by my vet. As his human being auntie (Lo) says, "He is not a mutt, he is a magical mix." To date, Cinn is a whopping 5.5 pounds (yes, he can now compete with a sack of potatoes) and is in great health according to his vet, Dr. Z.
Cinnamon was prancing around at the LFP Farmer's Market on Mother's Day, May 13th with his biological dad and 3 softball-sized fluffy siblings and original human owners. It was explained to me that Cinn's bio dad was a single father to the four little ones because the biological mother ran away. I thought, "Hey, if I was a mom to a little girl, three little boys and dad ... that's four guys, maybe I would run away too." Laugh! I was looking for a dog for almost one and a half years before Cinnamon "made eyes" with me. I called to him. He ran into my arms and fell asleep. Then and there, I knew he was "my kid." Within two hours after meeting Cinnamon, I went to get him from his original owners. He was a tiny two pounds and 10.5 ounces when he came to live with my husband and me.
With my help, Cinnamon will write a weekly blog about his adventures and life in the Northern King County and Southern Snohomish County area. He asks for all dog owners to make comments and share doggy care tips. Of course, all who participate will hold harmless Cinnamon and all entities of Shoreline.patch.com. Please consult your vet before taking advice from other animal lovers. Cinnamon would like help from local companies (here is a shout out to Mud Bay in LFP and Petco in Shoreline) who enhance the lives of animals. Do you know other businesses in Shoreline and LFP who are great resources for dogs and more? For those businesses that cater to all animals (not just dogs) we would like to hear from you. Please post your community events in the announcement section of this on-line newspaper or make comments on this blog.

Once in a while Cinnamon will pen a few words about animals who are available for adoption. Mostly, Cinnamon asks for your help, as he will have a gallery of pictures called "Friends of Cinnamon." You can be a cat, ferret, squirrel, chameleon, pot bellied pig - whatever. No matter where you are in life's journey, Cinnamon wants to be friends with your pet. He will make it easy for you to post pictures of your pet on-line at shoreline.patch.com. Cinnamon will pick one animal to be the "Pet of the Month." More details about the pet photo gallery and contest will appear later on this blog.
Cinnamon says, "Woof! It was great meeting so many of you at the Shoreline Farmer's Market a few weeks ago! You will see me around town. I will be the one in a dark, kangaroo style satchel strapped to my mom's front side or I will have my red leash attached as I run circles around my mom. I will be wearing a shirt that lets you know I am a service dog. I am also the official Patch Puppy for Shoreline Lake Forest Park Patch. I would like to hear from you. What business do you frequent? Where do you recommend I buy basic needs like food, etc? Do you have a favorite doggie park? See you around!" [Frantic tail wagging]
