Briarcrest Elementary is getting a new playfield (see photo). The field will receive significant drainage improvements, new sod and synthetic FieldTurf cutouts in heavily used areas. The new field will be closed during the 2012-13 school year to let the grass mature.

This is the fifth elementary school playfield to receive an upgrade. The new Meridian Park School field will open this fall. Highland Terrace, Lake Forest Park and Syre opened new fields in 2010.
