Prep Football: King's Moves to 2-0 with Big Win Over Coupeville

The Knights offense again produces big numbers as King's rolls over Coupeville 41-14.

A week after putting up 35 points in a season-opening win over Lakeside, the King's football team did itself one touchdown better in a win over Coupeville.

Billy Green tossed five touchdown passes and the Knights (2-0, 1-0 1A/2A Cascade) used a sizeable yards-gained advantage to cruise past Coupeville 41-14 on Friday night at Coupeville High School in Coupeville.

King's started the season with a 35-6 win over Lakeside in week one and did not miss a beat against Coupeville. The Knights raced to a 34-0 halftime lead and held Coupeville scoreless until late in the game when the outcome was already determined.

The junior started the scoring early, hitting tight end Christian with a 5-yard touchdown pass in the first quarter. Green connected with Taylor nine times on the night for 62 yards and two touchdowns.

"Christian is this six-foot five target with speed," Green said. "He just found the open areas and I got him the ball."

For the second straight week, the Knights defense held the opposition without a score until the fourth quarter. Coupeville scored twice in the final frame, but managed just 128 yards of total offense on the night and recorded just six first downs.

Next up for King's is a road game at Sultan on September 16 at 7 pm.
