King's Girls Cruise Past Friday Harbor in Opening Round

Storkson scores a career high 28 points

SHORELINE—Karlie Storkson buried six 3-pointers and scored a career-high 28 points to lead the King's girls to a 56-36 opening round 1A  district playoff win over Friday Harbor at Mike Martin Gym, Wednesday afternoon.

Friday Harbor keyed on King's post Joclyn Kirton allowing Storkson, a junior guard, to showcase her smooth shooting.

"We had other girls who stepped it up," said King's coach Dan Taylor. "I felt overall we played well."

The win gives King's a home game Saturday likely against Chimacum in the opening round of the Tri-District playoffs, Taylor said.

If King's wins the loser-out game they will move on to play Tuesday at home again. The tournament wraps up at Mountlake Terrace and Lynnwood high schools later in the week.
