Shorewood Wrestlers Place Fourth at John Birbeck Classic in Lacey
Mathew Floresca and Braden Kalloway win tournament titles
The Shorewood Thunderbirds began their season Saturday with a solid showing at the John Birbeck Classic held at Timberline High School in Lacey, Washington.
The T-Birds were finished in fourth place, missing out on the trophies by a mere 3.5 team points.
Leading the young team was junior captain Mathew Floresca who took first place at 132 lbs. Floresca improved his career record to 61-6. Sophomore Braden Kalloway also captured a first place title, at 152 lbs, his first tournament championship.

Other Thunderbirds placing were Erik Harris-Uldall at 145 lbs, Sam Jang at 182 lbs, and Erca Erdenbayer at heavyweight, all taking 3rd place.
Shorewood wrestles next in a double dual against Shorecrest and Lynnwood on Tuesday night.
