Shorewood Students Go Green With Recycling Program

The T-Bird Crew's environmentally safe disposal of cell phones and print cartridges helps earn technology and cash.

T-Bird Crew students are going green while earning cash by participating in the Erie, PA-based FundingFactory's recycling program.

T-Bird Crew members, who have severe disabilities, are collecting empty laser and inkjet cartridges and used cell phones and sending them to FundingFactory in exchange for their choice of technology and recreation products or cash.

Companies interested in demonstrating a commitment to education and the environment can participate for free in the FundingFactory business support program. FundingFactory will send each supporting business free prepaid shipping labels for the return of collected cartridges and cell phones. By donating to the Shorewood High School T-Bird Crew, businesses help them earn funds for needed supplies.

Community and business supporters can also drop off cartridges and cell phones at Shorewood High School, 17300 Fremont Ave N, Shoreline. The school is now looking for businesses willing to be drop-off sites.
