Shorewood Gets First Football Win of Season, 14-7 Over Lynnwood

Okamura runs for 93 yards on nine carries, scores touchdown

The Shorewood football team earned its first win of the season 14-7 over Lynnwood, Friday, Sept. 7 behind 93 yards and a touchdown from Josh Okamura, the Everett Herald reported.

The 3A Thunderbirds improved to 1-1, while 4A Lynnwood fell to 1-1.

Okamura carried nine times and scored on a 3-yard run in the second quarter. Quarterback Aaron Miller connected with Chris Namba for the T-birds first score, a 16-yard touchdown pass.

Austin Upton led the Thunderbirds defense with nine tackles, including two for a loss and one sack, the Herald reported.
