Shorewood Boys Tennis Beats Shorecrest, Loses Close Match to Glacier Peak
Julian Gonzalez of Glacier Peak defeats Jamie Wright of Shorewood in a meet-deciding three set match
In a three-hour battle of endurance, Julian Gonzalez of Glacier Peak defeated Jamie Wright of Shorewood in a three-set match, Thursday afternoon at Shoreview Park.
Gonzalez won the deciding match in a third set tie-breaker. It was the deciding match with Glacier Peak winning with a team score of 4-3 over the T-Birds.
Shorewood's Wesco 3A conference record is 2-1 and 4-2 overall. They remain in first place tied with Shorecrest. Eric Berquist came from behind to win his match in three sets to extend a three set winning streak. Also winning for Shorewood were doubles teams Dylan Stephens / Matt Buswell and Frank Lui / Alejandro Uvence. Next match for the T-Birds is at Meadowdale Monday September 17 starting at 3:30 p.m.

The Shorewood boys tennis team defeated Shorecrest 5-2 in a match up of the Wesco South 3A leaders. The T-Birds improved their conference record to 2-0 and 4-1 overall and first place. Shorecrest Scots fell to 1-1 in conference and 3-2 overall and second place. Team captains Liam Keebler and Eric Berquist led the way with wins in singles. Also winning in singles was Logan Keebler and in doubles Cameron McDowell / Eli Hecker and Dylan Stephens / Matt Buswell.
