Shoreline Christian Elementary School Collects Books For Foster Children

Nearly 400 books were donated to local adoption agency Bethany Christian Services' Fostering Education program

students recently collected nearly 400 books for donation to local adoption agency Bethany Christian Services’ Fostering Education program.  Bethany launched Fostering Education to provide books for local children in the foster care system, while also raising awareness of the global orphan crisis as part of its National Adoption Month activities.

“We at Bethany want to thank every teacher, student and parent at Shoreline Christian School who participated in this book drive,” said Edna Kuipers, director of Bethany Christian Services’ Seattle branch. “Our hope is that through the Fostering Education program we will be able to gift a book to all local children in the foster care system this Christmas. We’re also hopeful that we’ve made those who supported the program aware of children in need, here in our community, and around the world.”

Shoreline students collected so many books that local moving company, Two Men and a Truck, was enlisted to deliver the books.   The Two Men and a Truck movers loaded more than 20 boxes of books for delivery from Shoreline Christian School to Bethany’s branch office.
