Shorecrest Softball to Host Pink Night to Support Cancer Research

Pink Night game with Glacier Peak is 6 p.m. Monday, May 7 the Shorecrest softball field

The Shorecrest girls softball team is raising awareness and funds for the Seattle Cancer Care Alliance with a Pink Night game with Glacier Peak at 6 p.m. on Monday, May 7 at the Shorecrest softball field.

Four mothers of girls on the team, coached by Jackie Berg, have had or are continuing their battle with breast cancer or multiple myeloma. And the event will also remember Sandy Collins, who died from ovarian cancer. Sandy was active in North King County Little League and Shorecrest softball, where she was the scorekeeper.

Both teams will be wearing pink jerseys, and Shorecrest will be wearing pink socks too!

The players are asked to solicit donations based on: runs, hits, and stolen bases, or a set amount. Each player is trying to raise $100, so the Shorecrest goal is to raise $1,500 to benefit the work of the Seattle Cancer Care Alliance. In addition there will be a pass the hat, and ribbons for sale, which will be placed on the corresponding dugouts.

There will be a post-game barbeque, with donations accepted.
