Shorecrest, Shorewood Receive Top Awards in Victoria Parade
Bands, drill, flag team, cheer and Highland dancers
Shorecrest and Shorewood performing groups each took top honors in the Victoria Day parade held Monday, May 23 in Victoria, B.C.
Shorecrest was selected as best overall band in the parade and won first place for best American band for population 1,200 or more and best drum major, Brannen Graves. Shorecrest was also selected for best overall drill team, a combination of the school's Highland Dancers and flag team. The Shorecrest band is directed by Vince Caruso.
Shorewood won first place for American drill teams (combined flags, cheer and drill) for population 1,200 or less and third place for American bands. The Shorewood band is directed by Dave Johnson.
