Shorecrest, Shorewood Construction Continues: Shoreline Schools

Construction is well under way on the three-story main academic building of Shorecrest High School, scheduled for completion in early 2014. 

Structural steel framing and concrete shear wall installation continues, proceeding west to east.

Concrete floor slabs are being poured, and installation of underground utilities (power, water, and sewer) continues, as well as installation of metal stud wall framing at second and third floor levels.

Electrical rough-in and installation of mechanical ductwork continues.

Erection of structural steel columns and beams for all floor levels in the east wing will begin soon.

Installation of storm and sanitary sewer lines around Main building continues.

Gymnasium:

The new gymnasium is now open and being used for physical education classes and by athletic teams. It includes the main gymnasium, auxiliary gym, classroom, locker rooms, weight room and aerobics/exercise room. Some finish work continues in the building.

Performing Arts Building

The Performing Arts building is now fully open, including the renovated theater and classrooms for band, choir, orchestra, drama and visual arts. 

Meanwhile, construction of the new Shorewood High School remains on schedule for the new buildings to open in September 2013. 

The electrical rough-in is underway in Ronald School, and elevator installation at both elevator locations is on-going.

Exterior metal panels installation continues around both the theater, classroom and athletic areas.

Windows at the library, commons, main entry and south classroom entry are 95 percent complete.

Painting of the gym ceilings is under way. Ceiling grid installation continues in all areas of the building.

Following completion of the gym ceiling painting, athletic equipment will be installed followed by the wood floors.

Casework and corridor panels are being installed on all levels of the classroom building and nearing completion

Main electrical room has been energized with permanent power to the building.

Restroom flooring, fixtures and wall tile installation is ongoing, and the roofing is nearly complet.

Site concrete continues to be poured with good weather.
