Shorecrest Literary Magazine Tattoo Named Best in U.S.

Tattoo is co-sponsoring an evening of art, poetry, and music, with Roosevelt High School, from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. on Friday, Jan. 20 at the Henry Art Gallery on the University of Washington campus.

Tattoo Magazine, the twice-yearly, student-produced Shorecrest High School literary publication, was named the Best High School Literary/Art Magazine (for schools of 100 to 1,700 students) in the country by the American Scholastic Press Association. Tattoo also received a first place with Special Merit ranking from ASPA.Β 

Andy Barker is adviser for Tattoo. The student editors for 2010-11 were Jacqueline Blackmore and Amy Williams.

Tattoo's next Coffeehouse event at Shorecrest will be at 7 p.m. Friday, Jan. 27 in the cafeteria, featuring student musical performances, poetry readings and refreshments. The first semester edition of Tattoo Magazine will be available for sale.
