Shorecrest Girls Lose First Round Game to Cleveland

Scots led at the half but Cleveland bench scores 19 points to support the come-from-behind win

Shorecrest lost to Cleveland in the round of eight, 39-32, Thursday evening in Tacoma, which knocks them into the consolation round of the 3A State Girls Basketball Tournament.

Shorecrest led 17-13 at the half, but the Eagles came roaring back thanks in part to 19 points scored by players who came off their bench.

Sophomore post Onyrie Chibuogwu scored 13 points to lead the Scots. Brianne Lasconia added 9 points and India Matheson chipped in 7 points.

The Scots will play Kamiakin at 12:15 p.m. Friday at the Tacoma Dome.
