Shorecrest and Shorewood Boys Basketball Squads Blow Out Opponents in Openers

Scots win first game in new home gym

The Shorecrest boys basketball team blew out Cascase of Everett, 72-38, Tuesday night to win the first varsity basketball game played in the school's new gym.

Alex Horning and Liam O'Neill scored 11 points apiece to lead a well-balanced attack for the Scots, who are poised to have a strong season under coach Brian Fischer. Jake Scherf added 10 points.

Crosstown rival Shorewood opened its season under new head coach Ben Scheffler with a 73-48 romp past Ingraham.

Taylor Freeman scored 21 points to lead the T-birds and Zane Hopen added 13 points on four 3-pointers. Washington State-bound senior Josh Hawkinson scored 12 points.
