UPDATE: No. 1-ranked Shorewood Boys Soccer Tops Weekend Playoff Matchups

The 3A District 1 baseball playoff games were canceled today because of rain. Shorewood will play at Glacier Peak at 4 p.m. Monday, May 7 and Shorecrest will play at Mount Vernon also at 4 p.m. Monday.

After completing an undefeated, 16-0 regular season, the Thunderbird boys soccer team opens the 3A District 1 playoffs at home under the lights at Shoreline Stadium Saturday night.

The T-birds are ranked No. 1 in the Seattle Times state 3A poll and sixth in the nation in the National Soccer Coaches Association of America spring soccer poll.

Shorewood plays Everett, who it beat twice during the regular season, at 7:30 p.m. tonight.

In other Wesco 3A District 1 soccer action on Saturday:

•plays at Mount Vernon at 4:30 p.m.

•Glacier Peak plays at Marysville-Getchell at 4 p.m.

• Sedro-Woolley plays at Lynnwood at 3:30 p.m.

The top two teams in the district tournament qualify automatically for state. The district title game is May 10 at Shoreline Stadium.

The 3A baseball District 1 double-elimination playoffs also start Saturday:

•Shorecrest plays at Mount Vernon at 3 p.m.

•Shorewood plays at Glacier Peak at 3 p.m.

•Ferndale plays at Mountlake Terrace at 3 p.m.

•Oak Harbor at Meadowdale at 3 p.m.

The top two teams advance to state. The district title game is May 12 at Everett Memorial Stadium.
