King's Football Team Hands Archbishop Murphy First Conference Home Loss Ever

Knights finally beat Wildcats after 13 years under Jim Shapiro, 40-15 in Everett

King's finally got the job done.

After years of looking up to their Cascade Conference rivals, the Class 1A Knights defeated the Class 2A Archbishop Murphy Wildcats at Terry Ennis Stadium for the first time ever Thursday night.

Brigham Young-bound senior quarterback Billy Green completed 18 of 31 passes for 312 yards and five touchdowns leading his team to a 40-15 victory, the Everett Herald reported.

Green also ran the ball 11 times for 33 yards and another touchdown helping coach Jim Shapiro get his first win over Archbishop Murphy after 13 years.

Shapiro got the water bucket dumped on his head and told the Herald, the win was in his all-time top 10.

The game was televised in the Northwest on ROOT Sports as the station's "High School Football Game of the Week."

King's receiver Caleb Taylor had 176 receiving yards and three touchdowns.
