Fall Sports Update: King's Football, Girls Soccer Advance; Volleyball and Cross Country Teams Place at State

King's football travels to Aberdeen Sat. Nov. 17 to play Aberdeen in Class 1A football quarterfinals

The King's football team stayed unbeaten with a come-from-behind 28-13 win over Hoquiam Saturday Nov. 10 to move on to the Class 1A quarterfinals.

The Knights from Shorelien fell behind 13-0 on the road but rallied for 28 unanswered points to improve to 11-0.

King's continues its quest for the Class 1A state title against Montesano, at 6 p.m. Sat. Nov. 17 at Stewart Field in Aberdeen.

King's Girls Soccer Team Advances to State 1A Semifinals

The King's girls soccer team advanced to the Class 1A state semifinals with a 1-0 win at home over Meridian Nov. 9.

The Lady Knights will be making their fourth trip to the state semifinals and first trip there since 2008. King's has finished third at state twice and fourth once.

King's will playing close to home at Shoreline Stadium at 2 p.m. Friday, Nov. 16 against University Prep.

The winner takes on Seattle Christian, a long-time King's playoff nemesis, or Cashmere in the state title game at 2 p.m. Sat. Nov. 17 at Shoreline Stadium.

King's volleyball team places fifth at state

The King's volleyball team swept Connell, 25-17, 25-15, 25-14 to earn fifth-place honors at the state 1A volleyball championships at the Yakima Valley SunDome in Yakima, Sat. Nov. 10.

In cross country, King's girls place third at state, boys fourth 

The King's girls cross country team placed third in the state 1A competition at Sun Willows Golf Course in Pasco on Nov. 3.

The Lady Knights finished with 127 points, behind champion Riverside (70 points) and second-place finisher Lakeside (Nine Mile Falls) (78 points).

Junior Kacey Kemper led King's by finishing third overall with a time of 18 min., 42.2 seconds.

The boys team placed fourth in Pasco with 113 points. Charles Wright won the meet with 87 points. Sophomore Andrew Ayers led King's by finishing seventh in a time of 16 min., 21.9 seconds.
