Fall Sports Postseason Update: Shorewood Sixth in State 3A Swimming

Shorewood's girls swim and dive team capped off their season with a strong sixth-place finish in the state 3A championships held in Federal Way. The T-Birds had earlier won the NW District 1 3A Swim and Dive Championships and were undefeated in their dual meet season.

The 200 Freestyle Relay (Annika Stenfjord, Alicia Hoverson, Megan Ransom and Anni Hecker) placed 5th in 1 minute, 43.20 seconds and the 400 Freestyle Relay(Annika Stenfjord, Alicia Hoverson, Megan Ransom and Anni Hecker) placed 6th in 3:45.78. The 200 Medley Relay (Nicole Gerbino, Christina Garrison, Ann Tardiff, Megan Ransom) placed 13th.

Individually, Annika Stenfjord, a junior, placed 8th in the 200 Freestyle in 1:59.71 and 7th in the 100 Freestyle in 54.76 seconds; junior Anni Hecker placed 4th in the 50 Freestyle in 25.21 seconds and sixth in the 100 Freestyle 54.6 seconds; freshman Christina Garrison placed 8th in the 100 breaststroke in 1:11.22.  Senior Alicia Hoverson placed 12th in the 50 Freestyle.

Girls Soccer: The Shorecrest girls soccer team lost to Seattle Prep 2-1 in a penalty kick shootout on Saturday at Shoreline Stadium in the quarterfinals of the state 3A tournament, ending a strong season with a 15-5-1 record.

Cross Country:
Shorecrest's Carter Osborne was 30th and Shorewood's Keenan Stephens was 71st among the 140 runners in the boys state 3A race in Pasco. Shorecrest's Gigi Vujovich was 23rd among 138 runners in the state 3A girls race, also held in Pasco.
