Median Home Prices Up 13 Percent in North King County

The median price of homes sold last month was $355,000, compared to $315,500 a year ago.

King County's housing market is heating up this summer, where sales are up 25 percent from last year and median prices continue to rise.

According to a monthly report from the Northwest Multiple Listing Service (NWMLS), 125 homes were sold in the county's north end for July, compared to 115 in June and 74 a year ago.

The median sale price was $355,000 last month in North King County, the same figure from June. Prices are up about 13 percent from July 2012, when the median sale price was $315,500.

Countywide, last month's median sale price was $398,000, up about 17 percent from a year ago.

NWMLS, which includes local real estate agents and brokers, has said rising prices and higher interest rates may be frustrating some buyers and noted the market's rebound could give some sellers "unrealistic expectations."
