Shoreline School Board Passes Budget; General Fund is $89 million

Capital projects fund tops $91 million

The Shoreline School Board passed the district's 2012-13 budget Monday night by a 5-0 vote.

The budget includes the following, as detailed by deputy superintendent Marla Miller. 

•The general fund totals $89,092,174 and that figure includes all staff costs which is the majority of that fund and other things such as the cost of routine maintenance of buildings.

•The Capital Projects fund of $91,034,300 includes all school construction costs for the year including funding for the new Shorewood and Shorecrest.

•The $25,116,590 debt service fund includes debt payments on all outstanding bonds including the 2006 and 2010 school bonds. These payments will go on for more than 15 years.

•The Associated Student Body Fund is $2,876,378.

•The Transportation Vehicle Fund is $500,000.
