Other Races: Incumbents Fall in Two Commissioner Races

Eric Adman leads Don Ellis for King County Fire Protection District 16 Commissioner Position 1 and Bob Ransom is ahead of Arne Lind in Ronald Wastewater District race

Incumbents were behind Tuesday night in contested races for King County Fire Protection District 16 and Ronald Wastewater District.

Shoreline firefighter Eric Adman leads long-time incumbent Don Ellis in the King County Fire Protection District No. 16 Position 1 race 54.66 percent (2,631 votes) to 45.15 percent (2,173 votes). Out of 23,190 registered voters, 6,192 ballots had been counted or 26.7 percent as of Tuesday night.

The King County Elections Web site will be updated about 4 p.m. Wednesday.

In the race for Ronald Wastewater District Position 1, challenger Bob Ransom leads incumbent Arne Lind, 52.09 percent (3,571 votes), to 47.56 percent (3,261 votes). Out of 33,218 registered voters, 8,548 ballots had been counted Tuesday night or 25.73 percent. 

In the race for Shoreline Fire Commissioner Position 1, 25-year incumbent Jon Kennison leads challenger Kim Fischer 62.72 percent (4,205 votes) to 37.05 percent (2,484 votes).

Running unopposed for Shoreline Fire Commission Position No. 4 is David Harris. He has 98.97 percent of the vote or 5,563 votes. Out of 33,429 registered voters, 8,604 ballots had been counted in the fire commission races or 25.74 percent of the total.

Also running unopposed are Lake Forest Park Water District Position 1 incumbent David Hammond, 99.69 percent of the vote, Position 3 incumbent Bill Donahue, 99.09 percent, and Shoreline Water District Position 1 incumbent Ronald F. Ricker, 97.70 percent. Ricker will serve another six-year term.

Also running unopposed is Highlands Sewer District Commissioner Michael Maloney, who won 93.02 percent of the vote.
