Old Kellogg Junior High at Aldercrest Annex Burns

The Shoreline school-district owned building was unoccupied, and was scheduled for demolition.

Shoreline Fire responded to a fire at the abandoned building that used to house Kellogg Junior High School in Shoreline on Wednesday evening.

Shoreline and King County Fire Investigation units were still on the scene as of 9:30 p.m., determining the cause of the blaze.

The Shoreline school-district owned building was unoccupied, and was scheduled for demolition. 

The fire was reported around 5:45 p.m., with smoke seen billowing from the Aldercrest Annex at 2800  NE 200th St.

A passerby saw the smoke and called 9-1-1.

Shoreline was assisted by three other fire departments, Northshore, Snohomish County District 1, and Bothell.

Damages are estimated to be around $20,000 dollars.

There were no injuries during the incident.   

The investigation will continue through the night. An update is expected before noon on Thursday.
