Obama to Swing Through Eastside, Everett Friday for Fundraising Events and Boeing Visit

Tickets are pricey to a pair of musical private fund raising events for President Barack Obama in Bellevue and Medina on Friday (Feb. 17), an Obama campaign spokesperson told the San Francisco Chronicle Tuesday.

Singer Natalie Cole will perform at a private luncheon with the president n Medina for 65 people, who paid $17,900 for each ticket, according to the Chronicle's Politics Blog. The singer, who had hits including "I Live For Your Love" and "Unforgettable," a virtual duet with her late father Nat King Cole, is in the area for a concert at the Emerald Queen Casino later Friday.

Obama was in Medina in September for a private fundraising event held at the home of .

Tickets to a fundraising reception at the Westin Bellevue featuring Seattle folk-alternative band The Head and The Heart are much less expensive, according to the Northwest Progressive Institute Advocate. Tickets for the noon event cost $1,000 each for general admission, and $250 each for Young Democrats. Tickets that include a photo reception with the president are $5,000 each, or $6,000 for two, the website reported. Invitations to the event were sent out two weeks ago.

Obama's Washington state stops on Friday include a visit to Boeing in Everett during his visit to Puget Sound on Friday.

It's the first time in 19 years that a president has visited Snohomish county, according to the Herald. President Bill Clinton stopped in Everett in 1993.

The White House says Obama will talk about the importance of domestic manufacturing and American exports at Boeing after flying in to Paine Field.

The president is expected to return to Washington, D.C., on Friday.
