McDermott Wins Reelection Over Bemis in Redrawn 7th Congressional District

Democrat McDermott elected to his 13th term in Congress

Democratic incumbent Jim McDermott will win reelection to Congress from the 7th District and will serve his 13th term.

McDermott is leading Republican challenger, lawyer Ron Bemis, 81.2 percent to 18.8 percent in early returns from the Secretary of State's office. So far, 196,806 votes have been counted.

McDermott is the new Congressional representative for Shoreline, Lake Forest Park and parts of Edmonds as part of redistricting that took place after the 2010 Census.

McDermott lives in Seattle.
