Ask questions in a casual setting of the long-time democratic congressman

Seventh District Congressman Jim McDermott (D-Seattle) is hosting a "Coffee with Your Congressman" event in Lake Forest Park at the Commons in Third Place Books at 10 a.m. Saturday, March 3.

McDermott represents a small slice of Lake Forest Park and will represent the rest of it in a few months

Local residents are invited to join the Congressman McDermott for a cup of coffee and to exchange thoughts about current issues facing the country. He will give a brief update about what is going in Congress and answer questions as well. A staff member will accompany him.

"It's a much more casual and informal setting," Kinsey Kiriakos
Communications Director for McDermott said. "There's more dialogue, that's why we get such a good turnout. He enjoys this atmosphere."

This is the eighth in a series of neighborhood coffee events that McDermott is hosting throughout the Seattle area. McDermott is planning additional coffee events for April and May (locations and dates are currently being worked out).

If you need more information about the March 3 coffee event or would like to RSVP, feel free to call McDermott's Seattle office at (206) 553-7170 or visit his Facebook event page
