It started on this hill known as Concord...

A Shoreline American Legion officer shares a Memorial Day thought

It started on this hill known as Concord; The Old North Bridge…many more.

Then brothers battled at Gettysburg and Shiloh…many more.

We lost the USS Maine and then…many more.

Mustard gas trenches on the Western front…and Battles…many more.

The Battle of Britain, The Battle of the Bulge, The Battle of Midway…death camps…and many more.

Hiroshima and Nagasaki to end war, but…many more.

Task Force Smith, Puson, Inchon, Stalemate…many more.

Chan La, Arc Light, Song Be, Tet Offensive, then My Lai trials, but…many more.

Battle of 73 Easting. WMD. Biological weapons. Improvised explosive device.

Military and Veterans Suicide.

This is why…Memorial Day.
