THIS CAMPAIGN:

What is the primary reason you are running for this office?

I have a long history of involvement in Lake Forest Park. This  involvement has allowed me to connect with many facets of the community and gain valuable knowledge from our  residents regarding the issues facing them, our City now and in to the near future. I have no agenda, hidden or otherwise. My demonstrated leadership skills, professionally and voluntarily, will lend knowledgeable input to managing finances,  building teams, preserving the environment, while listening to and representing our constituents.

What will be your top three priorities if you get elected and why?

1. Fiscal Management:In our current economic environment prudently managing our City's fiscal matters is an ongoing challenge. How to achieve this will be one of my priorities.  Looking forward, there is a need to continue to maximize the use of our City's resources (human & financial), seek investment opportunities and find ways that both make sense and that work. An extensive background in management and business will help me serve my community. 2. Building Teams: Lake Forest Park has recently become polarized by political faction and diverse mindsets. Our community is too small and close-knit to spend valuable time and energy in conflict with each other. My goal will be to apply my skills to build a framework for a shared vision of the city that collectively helps move us forward.I have the energy, passion, and experience to help insure that Lake Forest park supports senior & youth services, assures public safety, remains green and sustains the quality of life that we all enjoy. 3. Environment: I envision investing in the preservation of our trees, streams & trails that create a community that links people, places, and spaces. My goal will be to honor our community'svalues for encouraging safe walking ability, natural drainage, gathering places, and natural habitat. As a member of our City's Planning Commission, and through working with multi-commission members, I have learned the importance of balancing the need for future developmentand density with the effects on land preservation, neighborhoods and our natural environment.

What sets you apart from the other candidates and/or previous office holders?

*Involvement in youth sports & scouting

*Involvement as a member of the Lake Forest Park Financial Futures Task Force (2009)

*Involvement as a member of the Lake Forest park 100 Year Legacy Task Force (2007-2009)

*Involvement as a member of the Lake Forest Park Legacy Advisory Committee (2010-present)

*Involvement as a member and former chair of the Lake Forest Park Planning Commission (2006-present) I am the best qualified candidate as I have demonstrated passion, involvement, and experience for City Council Position #4.

How much money do you expect your campaign to spend on this election? $6-7 thousand
