THIS CAMPAIGN:
What is the primary reason you are running for this office?
I honestly feel this city needs to reflect the will of the voters on Prop 1 and live within the means of a small residential city of just over 5100 households without unnecessary and unwarranted tax increases.
I am seeking this position because I was recruited to run, because I have had previous experience on City Council, and I have demonstrated I will do the work necessary to run a good campaign and win.
What will be your top three priorities if you get elected and why?
To assure the continuity of our small residential community, as Mayor I will:
1. Ensure the City exercises the discipline and resourcefulness necessary to respond and meet our residents needs, including continuing to oppose unwarranted and irresponsible tax proposals like last year’s Prop 1
2. Protect services residents rely on, including public safety, as well as protect our neighborhoods and the environment.
3. Ensure broader resident participation and transparency in our City government
What sets you apart from the other candidates and/or previous office holders?
My opinion has been consistent in regards to the City’s Proposition 1, as it was being discussed during the campaign, and now.
I was opposed to Proposition 1, and worked as Treasurer and supporter of the No on Prop 1 campaign.
I am not on Lake Forest Park City Council. My service on Lake Forest Park City Council was 1998-2005 I have stayed abreast of city business.
I have been Co-President for Shorecrest High School PTSA and received a Golden Acorn award for my work
I have been endorsed by a number of organizations based on my past accomplishments and current campaign, who represent the views of a majority of residents, and who have not endorsed my opponents.
How much money do you expect your campaign to spend on this election?
$20-25 thousand
