How Would Commercial Flight Patterns from Paine Field Impact LFP?

After some concern has been expressed to the council by Lake Forest Park residents, the city council has booked a briefing on the proposal by Paine Field Airport Manager Dave Waggoner for its meeting on Thursday, May 9, at 7 p.m. The public is welcome to attend and observe.

The City Council is interested in learning more about the proposal before the FAA and how it might impact safety and quality of life in Lake Forest Park.

The FAA issued a finding of no significance for the plan after an environmental review completed in December.

The Airport is home to the Boeing manufacturing plant for 747, 767, 777, and 787 aircraft and recently saw the first flights of the first 787 Dreamliners and the first 747-8Aviation Technical Services is the largest third-party aircraft inspection and repair facility in North America and provides repair and maintenance services for airlines such as Alaska, Delta, Southwest and UPS. The airport is also home to the Future of Flight Aviation Center & Boeing Tour, the Flying Heritage Collection and the Historic Flight Foundation.

A few citizens have appeared at City Council meetings or sent communications that they are concerned about this proposal. One citizen sent a letter to hundreds of residents and the Mayor’s name appeared as one name on the signature bar, though Lake Forest Park says Mayor Goss did not sign the letter. The city emphasizes that neither the Mayor nor City Council have taken a position on this proposal, they are in a fact finding process.
