Good To Go Passes For 520 Bridge Available Now

If you commute to work or visit the Eastside tolling starts this spring

Commuters on State Route 520 now can purchase Good To Go passes for the all-electronic tolling system scheduled to start in the spring.

A mobile booth selling passes Saturday, Feb. 19 will come to Home Depot near Bitter Lake, 11616 Aurora Ave N, Seattle, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

The state expects to enact by spring a peak-hour toll of $3.50 each way of SR 520, which will help pay for repairs that include the replacement of the bridge span. No tollbooths will be installed. Instead, commuters will pay their tolls through a Good To Go account, or through the mail, which will carry a surcharge.

The state Department of Transportation announced storefronts in Bellevue and Seattle where commuters can purchase the transponders, which can be installed in cars and start their accounts.

Commuters who sign up before April 15 can get $10 in free tolls, according to the Washington State Department of Transportation.

The Washington State Transportation Commission has recommended a toll rate schedule that includes a peak-hour base toll of $3.50 each way, but because of voter-approved Initiative 1053, .

Commuters will be able to purchase the transponders at any local  store and a customer service center in Bellevue at 13107 NE 20th Street, Suites 3 & 4, Bellevue.

The Safeway stores will start carrying the passes Feb. 18.

The customer service center will be open from Monday - Friday 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. and Saturday and Sunday 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.

People also may buy the passes online at https://mygoodtogo.com/ or over the phone by calling 1-866-936-8246.
