Gay Marriage Will Be On The Ballot In November
The gay marriage bill was blocked in Washington State on Wednesday.
On Wednesday, opponents of Washington's gay marriage law, which would have allowed same-sex couples to marry today, blocked the law from taking effect, making it an issue that will be voted on in November, reported the Seattle Times.
Earlier this year, Washington's , and later through the house of representatives with 55-43 vote.
Preserve Marriage Washington, the anti-gay marriage group responsible for blocking the law, filed more than 200,000 signatures to stop Washington state from becoming the seventh state in the country to legalize same-sex marriage.

According to their website, Preserve Marriage Washington urged voters to "reject redefining marriage, because marriage is a unique institution that is profoundly in the common good."
In February, Shoreline's city council passed a resolution declaring the , with a unanimous 6-0 vote.
