Echo Lake Park Stabbings Happened After Crude Comments Made About a Girl

Teens were having party at Echo Lake Park Sunday night when fight ensued

King County Sheriff's Office Major Crimes detectives are still investigating and interviewing witnesses after a double stabbing that happened Sunday night at Echo Lake Park in Shoreline.

A group of teens were having a party at Echo Lake Park about 8 p.m. Sunday night when a fight broke out after a guy made crude comments about a girl, said Sgt. Katie Larson of the Shoreline Police Department.

Someone rose up to defend her, and words and blows were exchanged in the ensuing fight and knifes were brought out. As a result, two guys, a 17-year-old and 19-year-old, were stabbed. Alcohol may have been a factor in the fight.

The guy who made the comments was brought by one of the partygoers and did not previously know the other attendees.

The two stabbing victims had serious injuries and went to Harborview for treatment and detectives are interviewing several individuals and charges are pending.
