Catherine Stanford Elected Deputy Mayor of LFP

Council approves $15,000-plus for Prothman Company to conduct search for city administrator

Lake Forest Park City Councilmember Catherine Stanford was unanimously elected to be the city's deputy mayor at a Council meeting, Thurs. Jan. 12.

Stanford was nominated by Councilmember Sandy Koeppenol, and Councilmember Don Fiene was nominated by Councilmember John Wright for the position.

After a recess, Fiene declined the nomination and Stanford was elected.

Stanford was re-elected in November to her second term.

The Council also unanimously approved a motion to authorize Mayor Mary Jane Goss to sign an agreement with the Prothman Company to help recruit a new city administrator to repalce interim City Administrator Bob Jean, who is scheduled to leave on March 31.Β

The contract with the Seattle-based Prothman Company is for $15,000 plus expenses to assist with the process.

A public hearing scheduled for the city's medical marijuana moratorium attracted no one to testify, and the Council plans to vote to extend its moratorium for six more months at its Jan. 26 meeting.Β
