UPDATE: Candidates Starting to File For Council, School Board Races

Today was the first day candidates in King County could file for the Aug. 16 primary and so far the following candidates have filed in local races.

Mary Jane Goss, a former Lake Forest Park City Councilwoman, filed to run for mayor as has current deputy mayor Dwight Thompson.

Incumbent LFP City Councilman Ed Sterner filed to run for reelection for Council Position 6.

Tom French has filed to run against Sterner. French's campaign Web site is www.electtomfrench.com.

Jeff Johnson is the first candidate to file for LFP Council Position No. 4.

In Shoreline, incumbent Chris Eggen, has filed for Council Position 2. He is unopposed at this time. 

Incumbent Doris McConnell was the first to file for Council Position 4. Her campaign Web site is www.dorismconnell.com. Former Councilwoman Janet Way said she plans to run against McConnell. 

Robin McClelland, a former Shoreline City Planning Commissioner, was the first to file for Position 6. Her campaign Web site is www.ElectRobinForShoreline.org.

One candidate for Shoreline School Board of Directors has filed. Kyle Burleigh, who ran unsuccessfully for Director District 1 in 2007 against incumbent Mike Jacobs, is running again for the same position. His campaign Web site is www.kyleburleigh.com.

Jon Kennison filed to keep Position No. 1 on the Shoreline Fire Department Commission while Arnold H. (Arne) Lind filed for Ronald Wastewater District Commissioner Position No. 1.
