Cafe Aroma and Ridgecrest Holding Food Drive for Hopelink

More than ever the need is great

Editor's note: The following press release is from the Ridgecrest Neighborhood Association.

This year, your support to Hopelink and the community is crucial.

Did you know?
• 30% of Shoreline kids are on free/reduced lunch programs right now?
• 1 in 5 Shoreline residents live at or below the poverty line?
• We have a HopelinkCenter right here in Shoreline?
• Demand at the Shoreline Food Bank location has increased 45 percent in the past 3 years?

The generosity of the community makes it possible for Hopelink to ensure that hundreds of homes are able to keep the power on and tens of thousands of families have food on their table this winter. Without the support of our community, none of this would be possible. Budget cuts, the end of the summer gardening season and a drop in donations are not good news for the 400 local families who rely on Hopelink’s Shoreline food bank every month. Many of those hungry children, adults and seniors are in our community. Please give generously.

Over the next 7 weeks, Cafe Aroma and the Ridgecrest Neighborhood Association are coordinating a food drive for Hopelink. If you’re interested in donating food to this project, that would be great!
The Cafe Aroma will be the drop-off point for all non-perishables, but items in extra need include:
• Canned fruit and vegetables
• Peanut butter
• Tuna
• Rice
• Pasta
• Canned beans and prepared meals
• Cereal and oatmeal
