The driver of a vehicle involved in a fatal rollover crash Saturday on Interstate 90 was going too fast for the road conditions, says the Washington State Patrol.
According to the Daily Record, WSP cited the driver, Leah E. Baird, 19, of Kent, for going too fast for conditions.
Eighteen-year-old Austin M. Scott, of Lake Forest Park, died in the crash 17 miles east of Ellensburg.
Scott, who graduated from Shorecrest High School this year and was attending Washington State, was one of five young adults traveling in a 2003 black Ford Escape that crashed after apparently hitting an icy patch on I-90. Washington State Patrol officers found the car on its side around 10:40 a.m.
Scott was pronounced dead at the scene, and the three other passengers and the driver, a 19-year-old Kent woman, were transported to local hospitals.
