Two-Car Freeway Accident in Shoreline Sends Four to Hospital

Included among the injured was a 90-year-old passenger. It is unknown at this time if drugs and alcohol were a factor.

A two-car freeway collision Friday morning in Shoreline injured four people, according to the Washington State Patrol.

Both cars were traveling southbound I-5 approaching NE 145th Street in Shoreline just after 10 a.m. when a 25-year-old Shoreline driver, the only occupant, struck the other car, full of passengers. The force sent the second car into the guardrail. The fist vehicle took the exit toward NE 145th St., veered off the roadway and collided with a tree.

The Shoreline driver was transported to a hospital for injuries sustained during the crash. The 31-year-old Lynnwood driver and two of his passengers--a 30-year-old Lynnwood woman and 90-year-old Edmonds man--were also transported to a nearby hospital for injuries. Two toddler boys, both age 2, were uninjured.

It is unknown if drugs and alcohol were factors in this collision and the cause is still under investigation, according to the Washington State Patrol.
