Threats to Burn Down Tent City 3 Reported

The following blotter items range from Dec. 26, 2012, to Dec. 31, 2012. Information on arrests is supplied by the Shoreline Police Department. The reports do not indicate a conviction.

Threatening texts were sent to the front desk cell phone of Tent City 3, saying that the sender “was watching them and was going to burn down the tents.”  Police don’t have any known suspects in the Dec. 31 incident. Tent City 3 is currently at Calvin Presbyterian Church.

Dec. 27

LARCENY: Shoplifting incident was reported at the Fred Meyer store, 18325 Aurora Ave. N.

Dec. 28

MORE SHOPLIFTING: A person shoplifted items at Safeway, 15332 Aurora Ave. N., and fled the scene but left his wallet behind.

Dec. 29

LARCENY: A person reported a credit card and cash stolen from a locked locker at the YMCA, 19290 Aurora Ave. N.

CONTROLLED SUBSTANCE VIOLATION: A person was arrested on suspicion of DUI and drug possession after a vehicle crashed into a rock wall and the driver tossed out more than 145 grams of marijuana, a felony amount. Police also seized $1,285.

Dec. 30

STOLEN JAGUAR FOUND: A white 2002 Jaguar was recovered from Ballinger Commons in a parking lot where it had been parked for about two weeks.

MAIL STOLEN: An unknown suspect was seen with an armful of mail believed to be stolen from area mailboxes in the 16000 block of Densmore Ave. N. The suspect left in an older silver Honda Civic hatchback.

Dec. 31

FACEBOOK VANDALISM: A suspect met a female on Facebook, came to her apartment at the Chateau Apartments in the 18000 block of 15th Ave. N.E., then broke in after unsuccessfully trying to start a fight with the renter.

DRUNKENNESS: An extremely intoxicated person was found walking southbound in the northbound lanes of Aurora Avenue at North 200 Street, directly at a patrol car.

HOME BURGLARY: Someone broke the front window of a home in the 600 block of North 182nd Street and stole a jewelry box.

LARCENY: A suspect stole a TV from the Sears at 15711 Aurora Ave. N., then ran from security and was detained and turned over to police.

STOLEN PURSES: Purses were reported stolen in multiple locations on Dec. 31. A car window was broken and a purse stolen from a car parked in the Dog Park lot on the Shoreline Community College campus at 11:53 a.m. At 12:19 p.m., a patron reported a purse stolen from a shopping cart at Fred Meyer, at 18325 Aurora Ave. N. And at 4:15 p.m., a suspect smashed a car window and stole a victim’s purse while she was in Walgreens, at 14510 Aurora Ave. N.
