Suspicious Ad for “Pleasure Rubs for Seniors” Left at Central Market

The following blotter items range from October 24, 2012 – October 25, 2012. Information on arrests is supplied by the Shoreline Police Department. The reports do not indicate a conviction.

On Wednesday, October 24th, Shoreline Police investigated a suspicious circumstance at The Central Market, 15505 Westminster Way.  Close to 2:30pm, someone entered the market and left business cards for all to see.  The cards were advertisements for “pleasure rubs for seniors.” 

October 24

DUI:  A person drove drunk in the 14500 block of Aurora Ave North.  This person has three previous DUIs and was again rewarded with a booking into The Snohomish County Jail.

TRESPASS:  Two men entered an abandoned apartment in the 14500 block of Phinney Ave North.  The apartment was rented to a friend but that friend was evicted.  Police were alerted to the presence of the two men by an apartment manager who advised police that the friend was evicted and there should be no persons in the unit and a possible burglary was taking place.  Eventually, the police found out that the two men were simply seeking shelter and a place to sleep at night.

DEATH of a SEX OFFENDER: A death certificate matched the identifiers of a registered sex offender who lived in the 16200 block of North Park Ave.  When it was correctly confirmed that the sex offender was deceased, the person/person’s name was removed from the state and local sex offender databases.

DRIVING WHILE LICENSE REVOKED:  Someone was arrested due to several outstanding warrants and charged with third degree driving with a suspended license.  This happened in the 15500 block of 15th Ave NE.

FRAUD:  A person walked into The Office Maxx (1345 N 205th Street) and tried to use a declined credit card to make purchases.

LARCENY:  A bad person used a cutting tool to disassemble a bike rack and steal a bike.  This unfortunate situation played out at 1355 N 205th Street.

THREATS BY PHONE:  A man in the 1700 block of NE 146th Street told police that he received a threatening phone call from his former brother-in-law. The ex brother-in-law said he would kick the man’s a**.

STOLEN VEHICLE:  Culprit(s) stole a car from a parking lot at Shoreline Community College, 16101 Greenwood Ave North.

DEATH INVESTIGATION:  A woman in the 17500 block of 5th Ave NE was found dead in her duplex.  The police entered the unit with the help of the property manager.  It appears the woman died alone.

LARCENY:  A student at Shoreline Community College parked her car in the green lot at the school.  She left the car to attend a class.  When she returned, she found that someone had smashed her rear passenger window.  It is unclear what was taken.

SUSPICIOUS CIRCUMSTANCES:  Another car was stolen from a parking lot at Shoreline Community College; however, this particular victim was uncooperative with police.  There was some information brewing about the sale of the vehicle, however, the car was not transferred.  There is no further information about this case.

LARCENY:  Someone stole liquor and food from the Safeway at 153rd and Aurora Ave North.

VANDALISM:  Someone slashed car tires at the Jack in the Box on Aurora Ave North and 182nd Street.

October 25

SEX OFFENDER REGISTRATION:  A person in the 17800 block of 8th Ave NE registered a change of address.   The person is listed as a level 2 offender by The Seattle Police Department and a level 1 offender by the Dept of Corrections.  The person was convicted of rape in 2001.

COMMERCIAL BURGLARY AT FIRCREST SCHOOL:  Someone pried open a door and forced their way into Fircrest at 15230 -15th Ave NE.  Currently, the school is abandoned.

STOLEN IPAD:  Another Ipad was stolen at Shorecrest High School. 

VANDALISM:  Culprit(s) bent a gate latch sometime in the late evening at The Metro Access Van Storage Lot, 16325 – 5th Ave NE.

FORGED CHECKS:  A cashier’s check was “washed” of its original information at Shoreline Center, 18560 – 1st Ave NE.  The check amount and name (payee) were changed on the check.

SUSPICIOUS CIRCUMSTANCES:  A person tried to steal several bottles of liquor from Costco at 1175 N 205th Street.  The police discovered this person also had two outstanding warrants.

BURGLARY, FORCED ENTRY:  A bad guy and possibly his/her friend used a tool to push double doors apart and then pulled the deadbolt past another door.  This happened in the 20300 block of Meridian Ave North.

BAD LIAR, BAD BROTHER:  A man was driving a car in the 20300 block of Ballinger Way when police pulled him over.   He was found to have a revoked license.  Further, during the stop he provided his brother’s name.
