Shoreline Police Blotter: Vandals Hit Numerous Neighborhoods in Shoreline With Graffiti Tags

The following blotter items from March 2-March 10 and information on arrests were supplied by the Shoreline Police Department. The reports do not indicate a conviction.

March 2

SEX OFFENSE: Graphic text messages were sent to a girl under 18 by two adult males via gmail and Facebook in the 1600 block of N. 197th Place.

VANDALISM: A shipping container on the North City Elementary property was spray painted with “COEC” graffiti.

VANDALISM: New graffiti tags of “DFS” and “BRB” were discovered on street and bus signs near N.E. 185th St. and 7th Ave. N.E.

VANDALISM: Graffiti tags of “MBK” and “MACE” in white paint pen and gold paint pen respectively, were found on N. Richmond Beach Drive.

March 4

AUTO THEFT: Someone stole an Acura parked on the road shoulder in the 20000 block of 30th Ave. N.E.

TRESPASS: A homeless man was found sleeping in the 3rd floor east stairwell at the Henry House Apartments, 345 Richmond Beach Road. He used to reside there and said his mother was currently being evicted. He was trespassed from the premises.

VANDALISM: Someone in the 18300 block of 17th Place N.W. said he and a couple neighbors have all had their homes egged three straight nights and do not know who did it.

March 5

ASSAULT: Two girls at Kellogg Middle School fought in the girls bathroom.

WARRANT: Three men were smoking marijuana in a car near Innis Arden Reserve, in the 17700 block of 15th Ave. N.W. One of them had a driving while license suspended warrant and was booked into the King County Jail.

VANDALISM: A graffiti tag of ROGUE and in white paint pen and racist writing in black pen was found on a picnic table at Hillwood Park, 190001, 3rd Ave. N.W.

March 6

POWER TOOLS STOLEN: Someone stole power tools and a backpack from an unlocked vehicle in the 17200 block of Greenwood Place.

BURGLARY: A storage unit in the Public Storage business at 20065 15th Ave. N.E. was burglarized after someone cut the lock.

SHOPLIFT: Someone shoplifted deli food items from Safeway on 15332 Aurora Ave. N.

BURGLARY: Someone broke into a home in the 1300 block of N. 183rd St. and ransacked the master bedroom.

March 7

WEAPONS AND DRUGS: Police stopped a prostitute and likely pimp for a pedestrian violation and suspicious behavior. They were both found to have warrants for their arrest and the man was found to be in possession of a loaded gun and narcotics.

March 8

MENTAL COMPLAINTS: A woman was walking in the wooded trail at Hamlin Park when she heard crashing. A man was grabbing some branches and thrashing them back and forth as he was flailing around.

VANDALISM: Someone smashed out the front passenger side window of a vehicle parked in front of Fred Meyer on Aurora Ave. N.

SEX OFFENSE: An exchange student reported that an unknown guy exposed his penis to her while she was waiting at a bus stop in the 2100 block of N.E. 145th St.

MENTAL COMPLAINTS: Someone threatened to jump from a roadway overpass in the 3000 block of N.E. 148th St.

March 9

VEHICLE PROWL: Someone broke the left rear passenger window out of a car parked in front of a home in the 17100 block of 22nd Ave. N.E. and searched it for valuables.

VANDALISM: Someone used a black marker to tag “FAT MAN” and “HUWOO” on a wooden fence in the 18300 block of Ashworth Ave. N. A property owner also discovered the tag, “OK BLOOD GANG”.

CONTROLLED SUBSTANCE and HIT AND RUN: Police were dispatched to a call of a hit and run at 18200 Aurora Ave. N. The suspect car, a Toyota Camry, was found at the Spin Alley bowling alley. The suspect was found to have heroin.

VANDALISM: Someone tagged “AWAKE” and “JOKR” at N. 200th St. between Linden Ave. and the Transit Center.

March 10

DRUNKENNESS: A woman upset about boyfriend issues tried to drown her sorrows with tequila at Goldie’s Casino, 15030 Aurora Ave. N. and was taken to detox.

LOCKERROOM THEFT AT YMCA: Someone entered a locker at the YMCA and stole a guy’s cell phone and cash. The victim had a tracking device on his phone and tracked it to an address in Mountlake Terrace.

FIGHT: Deputies were called to a fight in progress at N. 175th St. and Meridian Ave. N. that involved eight people.
