Shoreline Police Blotter: Suspects Swipe Purses From Grocery Carts

The following blotter items range from April 18, 2012 - April 22, 2012. Information on arrests is supplied by the Shoreline Police Department. The reports do not indicate a conviction.

April 18

SHOPLIFTING: Someone shoplifted three jackets worth less than $250 combined from Fred Meyer.

STOLEN BEER: Someone took two beers from Central Market and walked out the front door.

PURSE STOLEN: A female victim reported that her purse was stolen from underneath the desk she was sitting at inside the library. Inside the purse were USB drives that contained copies of her work resumes with her personal information.

BURGLARY: Someone broke a sliding glass window, then pried an interior garage door open to break into a house in the 5000 block of 167th St. to steal a backpack and CDs.

INDECENT EXPOSURE: An unknown male masturbated while engaged in a video chat with a 11-year-old Shoreline girl on Facebook.

ASSAULT: Someone assaulted a male by hitting him in the face in the 1800 block of N. 199th St.

April 19

TRAFFIC COMPLAINT: A person living near N. 178th St. and Ashworth Ave. N. reported that a vehicle races through the neighborhood at a high rate of speed. The person was concerned that children that walk the neighborhood could possibly get hurt. The vehicle was reported driving through about 11:30 a.m. and 2 p.m. daily.

SHOPLIFT: Someone stole clothes and perfume from Sears.

VANDALISM: A suspect who allegedly spraypainted a large retaining wall in the 18800 block of Aurora Ave. N. was booked in the King County Jail. The individual's vehicle was impounded pending a search warrant.

April 20

SNATCHED PURSE: An unknown suspect was captured on a store security camera stealing a purse from a shopping cart at Safeway on Aurora Ave. N. The purse and its contents were valued at less than $250.

ANOTHER SNATCHED PURSE: Someone took a purse from a grocery cart at Central Market. The value of the purse and contents was estimated at more than $250.

VANDALISM: New graffiti tags were found in all over the bathrooms, pinic area and play area at Richmond Beach Saltwater Park including TEITO, ZONE, DR. BLAH, MNK, BRC and KARBS.

PROSTITUTION: A suspect picked up a prostitute in the 14600 block of Whitman Ave. N. intending to have sex with her for money.

April 21

TABLET COMPUTER STOLEN: Someone attempted to distract an employee and shoplift an electronic tablet at the Radio Shack at 18407 Aurora Ave. N.

DRUG OVERDOSE: Someone overdosed on heroin at N. 183rd St. and Stone Ave. N. and was taken to Northwest Hospital.

CONTROLLED SUBSTANCE: A suspect at Safeway, 17202 15th Ave. N.E., was found to be concealing a narcotic in her purse which may have been heroin.

April 22

MISSING PERSON FOUND: A person was reported missing to the Kent Police Department was found at Fred Meyer.
