Shoreline Police Blotter: Person Uses Baby Carriage to Sneak Liquor

The following blotter items range from Aug. 23 2012 - August 25 2012. Information on arrests is supplied by the Shoreline Police Department. The reports do not indicate a conviction.

August 23

SUSPICIOUS VEHICLE: An officer was at the corner of NE 185th St. and 10th Ave. N.E. when she saw a man on a bicycle riding north on 10th Ave. The officer followed him from a distance, and saw him pull over and thought he pulled into a house.

SHOPLIFTING: A person stole numerous bottles of liquor from the Richmond Beach QFC, 600 Richmond Beach Road, by concealing the liquor in a baby carriage and smuggling it out the door.

MENTAL COMPLAINTS: A woman at the Shoreline Motel, 16526 Aurora Ave. N, was involuntarily committed after causing a disturbance and failing to pull over.

DUI: A person pulled over in the 16500 block of Aurora Ave. N. for speeding (going 50 MPH in a 40 MPH zone), and driving without headlights after dark, along with having two shredded left tires, was arrested for suspicion of DUI.

RAPE: A woman was sexually assaulted in the gym shower by an unknown male at the 20200 block of Ballinger Way N.

August 24

FRAUD: Two separate fraudulent charges totalling $300 were found on a person's Chase VISA card from the Chase Bank in Shoreline. The account has since been closed.

MENTAL COMPLAINTS: A person with a history of mental illness caused a disturbance at the Wells Fargo at 14500 Greenwood Ave. by accusing employees of the bank of stealing money.

ASSAULT: A man assaulted his girlfriend at the Echo Lake Condos in the 1100 block of N. 198th St., kicking and punching her, resulting in a broken nose.

THREATS, BY PHONE: A woman in the 18500 block of Midvale Ave. N.E., received a threatening phone call from her, "satan worshipping" ex-husband, threatening to harm her step daughter.

SHOPLIFTING: A person shoplifted two bottles of Captain Morgan Rum and an 18-pack of Natural Ice from the Aurora Safeway, 15332 Aurora Ave. N.

ASSAULT: A man was booked into the Snohomish County jail after scratching his roommates' shoulder with a cell phone at their home in the 16900 block of 4th Ave. N.E.

BURGLARY: Suspects entered the old Sunset Elementary building at 17800 10th Ave. W., and damaged property.

August 25

DRIVING WHILE LICENSE REVOKED: After a person's vehicle broke down on the shoulder of the road at Meridian Ave. N. and N. 175th St, an officer stopped to provide traffic control. A search of DOL records found the person's license to be suspended.

WARRANT: A man found drinking alcohol from an open container on the shoulder of the 19300 block of Aurora Ave. N. was found to have a warrant out for his arrest, and was booked into the Snohomish County jail.

DRUNKENNESS: A woman's upstairs neighbor at the Heatherwood Park Apartments, in the 19900 block of 19th Ave. N.E., called police complaining about loud music. When police arrived, they found the woman drunk, and with injuries to her foot after breaking a glass frame and stepping on it. The woman was too incoherent to seek treatment.
