Many burglary and theft incidents

The following blotter items were taken from Shoreline Police reports from May 3-10, 2011.

 May 3

 LARCENY, LESS THAN $250: A woman took numerous pairs of jeans and children’s clothing from Costco and put them in her purse and concealed the theft attempt with a pillow.

 ATTEMPTED SHOPLIFT OF BEER: A juvenile walked down the beer aisle at Safeway, 15332 Aurora Ave. N., pushing a cart and selected a Heineken Keg valued at $21.99 and placed in the cart and attempted to leave the store without paying.

 BURGLARY: A suspect used a hammer to smash a hole in a window at the Texaco station at 17563 15th Ave. N.E. and grabbed cigarettes. The suspect was caught after a brief foot pursuit.

 May 4

 ATTEMPTED BURGLARY: An unknown suspect shattered a rear patio door of a home in the 1100 block of N. 166th St. with a rock in the middle of the night but likely was scared off by a big dog sleeping inside.

 BURGLARY: Several large steel pipes were stolen from a secured construction storage area at 192nd St. and Aurora Ave. N.

 BURGLARY: Someone forced their way into a home by prying the screen off a back window in the 20200 block of 21st Place N.W. and took a box of jewelry.

 May 5

 VEHICLE PROWL: Someone smashed a window out of a vehicle parked in the 18800 block of Ashworth Ave. N. in the morning and took a laptop.

 FRAUD: A business owner in the 24000 block of N.W. 195th Place reported a suspect used money inappropriately and fraudulently and ran the business into the ground. The suspect took out credit cards in the victim’s name and ran up debt.

 FRAUD: A man claiming to be from the Drug Enforcement Administration called a person in the 15700 block of Greenwood Ave. N. and asked about a package with her name on it and a letter about it. He also tried to get money from the person.

 CHILD RAPE: Police responded to Shorecrest High School to meet a student and her parents who wanted to report a sexual assault by the father of another student against the girl.

 BURGLARY: Someone broke into a home in the 19500 block of 14th Ave. N.W. and stole a camera and MP3 player from inside.

 May 6

 OBSTRUCTING AN OFFICER: A woman in the 14900 block of Aurora Ave. N. gave a fake name to conceal an outstanding warrant from an officer and possessed a crack pipe. She was arrested and booked into the King County Jail.

 BURGLARY: Someone threw a chunk of asphalt through the main entry door window of Del-Bet Printing Company, 17214 Aurora Ave. N., and entered the business.

 CONTROLLED SUBSTANCE: Several Kellogg Middle School students were found to be involved in marijuana possession and distribution.

 BURGLARY: Someone broke the rear window of a home in the 16500 block of Linden Ave. N. and stole property inside.

 BURGLARY: Someone pried open a dead bolted door on the second floor of Ballinger Commons, 19900 block of Sunnyside Drive, and entered the apartment and stole jewelry.

 VANDALISM: Unknown suspects repeatedly vandalized a victim’s car by puncturing or deflating their car tires in the 19800 block of 25th Ave. N.E.

 FOURTH DEGREE ASSAULT: A suspect pulled his girlfriend’s hair causing her to fall and hit her head on a parked car and the ground in the 1400 block of N.E. 180th St. He fled and K-9 track did not find him. The case was forwarded to the prosecutor.

 March 7

LARCENY, LESS THAN $250: Ten small trees were taken from the side of a yard in the 800 block of N.W. 190th St.

AGGRAVATED ASSAULT: At Ballinger Commons, 20100 block of Sunnyside Ave. N., a  husband attempted to strangle his wife to the point she saw stars and complained of pain and then tried to pull out of the front door by her arm.

FOURTH DEGREE ASSAULT: A father living in the 2300 block of N. 187th St. was arrested for grabbing his son by the neck and pushing him into a bedroom wall.

March 8

 LIQUOR/TOBACCO VIOLATIONS: A drunken 17-year-old was found stumbling down Aurora Ave. N. near 185th St. and arrested for minor possession and released to his mother.

 LARCENY, MORE THAN $250: An unknown suspect entered an unlocked vehicle in the 18000 block of Stone Ave. N.  and stole tools.

 LARCENY, LESS THAN $250: An iPhone was taken from an unlocked vehicle parked in the 20000 block of Eighth Ave. N.W.

 LARCENY, MORE THAN $250: Someone smashed the driver’s side sliding door window out of a van parked at Twin Ponds Park and stole items.

 May 9

 AUTO THEFT: Someone stole a Nissan Pathfinder from the 15000 block of Stone Lane N.

 LARCENY, LESS THAN $250: Someone stole gas from the tanks of vehicles parked at Evergreen RV, 16610 Aurora Ave. N.

 TRESPASS: A family was found squatting in a residence in the 2500 block of N.W. 191st Place that had a marijuana grow operation downstairs. They were cited for criminal trespass.

 BURGLARY: Someone entered a home in the 16500 block of Wallingford Ave. through a sliding glass door and stole items.

 LARCENY, MORE THAN $250: Unknown suspects stole brass and copper irrigation equipment in the 17400 block of Aurora Ave. N. that was being used for the Aurora Ave. project.

 LARCENY, MORE THAN $250: Someone smashed a driver’s side rear window of a car parked at Ronald Bog Park with a baseball bat and stole a computer from inside.

 BURGLARY: A resident of Crista, 300 block of N. 190th St., reported that his or her apartment door was open and an address book with a credit card was missing.

 FOURTH DEGREE ASSAULT: An unknown Asian male reportedly assaulted a student at Shorecrest High School while the student was waiting for a ride home. The assault was likely gang-related.

 March 10

 LARCENY, LESS THAN $250: Someone siphoned fuel from vehicles overnight while they were parked in the 2100 block of N. 167th St.

 LARCENY, MORE THAN $250: Staff members at the YMCA, 19290 Aurora Ave. N., called 911 to report that two gym members had their lockers broken into in the men’s locker room.

 LARCENY, MORE THAN $250: A female person reported that items were stolen from her unlocked vehicle while it was parked at Home Depot, 1335 N. 205th St.

 BURGLARY: Suspects broke a downstairs window and glass on a door to enter a residence in the 16500 block of Stone Ave. N. Multiple fingerprints were lifted by police.
