Shoreline Police Blotter: Man Sneaks Out of Rite Aid With 14 Bottles of Tequila

The following blotter items range from Aug. 19 2012 - August 22 2012. Information on arrests is supplied by the Shoreline Police Department. The reports do not indicate a conviction.

August 19

ATTEMPTED BURGLARY: A person attempts to access the second floor of a home in the 15000 block of Dayton Ave. N. by putting a 12-foot metal ladder against a window, but is confronted by the homeowner. He was booked into the King County Jail.

MAIL THEFT: After placing mail in a non-locking mail box two weeks prior, a woman in the 2000 block of N. 150th St. was notified her water payment was never received. A look at her bank account revealed that her check had been washed and rewritten. 

MENTAL COMPLAINTS: A woman in the Colonial Garden Apartments, 14800 15th Ave. N.E., threatened suicide while speaking to the crisis line. She was sent to Northwest Hospital via AMR for treatment.

August 20

OVERDOSE: A woman in the Ballinger Commons says she accidentally overdosed on prescription drugs. While breathing and conscious, the woman is slightly incoherent, and is transported to Northwest Hospital.

ABANDONED VEHICLE: A black 1997 Honda Accord was parked in the same location for three days at the corner of N.E. Perkins Way and 12th Ave. A phone listing for the registered owner could not be found. 

LARCENY: A man was seen leaving the Rite Aid at 20330 Ballinger Way N. without paying for a large, clear storage box that he had filled with 14 bottles of tequila.

CONTROLLED SUBSTANCE: Two suspicious males were seen sitting in a car 15700 block of Dayton Ave. N. in the complete dark. Police confiscated their drug paraphernalia for disposal. 

DUI: After running a red light at 15100 block of Aurora Ave. N., a person is pulled over, and arrested for suspicion of DUI with a BAC of .143. 

August 21

VANDALISM: A man in the 20300 block of 5th Ave. W. reported his trailer was egged and tagged overnight, along with several other vehicles in the neighborhood.

RECKLESS DRIVING: A person demonstrating paranoid and intimidating behavior sped out of the driveway at Therapeutic Health Services, 16715 Aurora Ave. N., nearly hitting an employee. 

DEATH INVESTIGATION: A man with a history of heart problems passed away at the Autumn Ridge Apartments, 15100 Stone Ln. 

August 22

ASSAULT: An officer was dispatched to the 76 gas station at N. 205th St. and Aurora Ave. N., to speak to a man about being pushed down by his stepson. The man left before the officer could contact him, so he followed up at the man's home on the 500 block of N. 205th St. There, the man said his stepson grabbed him, kneed him, and he fell into a bed frame. 

RECOVERED STOLEN GOODS: The owners of a stolen bicycle found their bike on Craigslist, being sold at the Mr. Van Gard storage facility at 17800 Midvale Ave. N. 

LIQUOR VIOLATION: Police were dispatched to a sleeper with an open bottle of alcohol on a Metro bus at the Aurora Village Transit Center. The man was trespassed from all Metro property for 14 days.

WARRANT: A man living out of his car was arrested outside the American Legion Building on the 14500 block of 17th Ave. N.E. for a misdemeanor warrant.
