Shoreline Police Blotter: Man Robs Opus Bank on Aurora
The following blotter items from Jan. 9 – Jan. 15 and information on arrests were supplied by the Shoreline Police Department. The reports do not indicate a conviction.
JAN 9
VANDALISM: The external speakers, on the outside of Echo Lake Elementary, were damaged.
BURGLARY: Someone used a sawhorse to climb into a window of a house, in the 18500 block of Fremont Ave. N., and stole items.

LARCENY: Someone broke the window of a car at Bikram Yoga, on Aurora Ave. N., and stole a purse.
JAN 10

ASSAULT: A man, suffering from mild mental retardation and depression, got angry and assaulted his caregiver.
BANK ROBBERY: A white male, approximately 55 years old, entered the Opus Bank, on Aurora Ave. N., and handed a note to the teller, demanding money and stating that he had a gun.
FRAUD: An ad, for a rental home, turned out to be a scam, attempting to lure victims into paying a deposit for a home that was being rented by an unrelated realtor.
ROBBERY: An exchange student was followed after getting off the 347 Metro bus and robbed.
JAN 11
FAMILY DISTURBANCE: An adult woman and her father were involved in a physical altercation after a verbal dispute among family members.
CRIMINAL WARRANT: Someone was arrested, near the Rodeway Inn on Aurora Ave. N., with two misdemeanor warrants for prostitution and assault.
MENTAL COMPLAINTS: A teenage girl tried to overdose on Prozac on her mother’s birthday. She was taken to Children’s Hospital for a mental evaluation.
JAN 12
MENTAL COMPLAINTS: A man wandered into Shari’s, disoriented and bleeding. He was involuntarily committed for a mental evaluation.
BURGLARY: Someone broke into Shorecrest High School late at night.
DEATH INVESTIGATION: A homeless man died, apparently of natural causes, in a small shed in the backyard of a home that he was allowed to stay in.
JAN 13
FRAUD: A woman received a “Nigerian scam” type fax at her business.
LARCENY: Someone was seen stealing items from Sears, on Aurora Ave. N. After attempting to flee, in a vehicle that wouldn’t start, they were found hiding in a parking lot.
OVERDOSE: A woman overdosed on an unknown opiate type drug in her Shoreline condominium.
JAN 14
SUICIDE ATEMPT: A woman, who attempted to kill herself by overdosing on numerous pills, was transported to the hospital.
IDENTITY THEFT: Someone used a fake ID to withdraw $11,000 from a Chase Bank account.
DRUNKENNESS: A 36-year-old woman drank about half of a gallon of vodka and felt like dying.
JAN 15
MENTAL COMPLAINTS: A woman stole food from Shari’s and threatened to harm herself if she couldn’t come back inside.
VIOLATION OF COURT ORDERS: An woman violated court orders by contacting her ex-boyfriend via phone and Facebook.
