Shoreline Police Blotter: Highland Terrace Student Gets Threatening E-Mail, Chat Room Messages

The following blotter items range from April 27, 2012 - May 1, 2012. Information on arrests is supplied by the Shoreline Police Department. The reports do not indicate a conviction.

April 27

VANDALISM: Someone spraypainted the tags, METHOD BOMBER KREW, WE LIVE HERE TOO, DEATH BY ART, THINK BEFORE YOU SPEAK at Highland Ice Arena.

THREATS: Someone made drunken statements to a former co-worker about wanting to shoot up Central Market.

HIT AND RUN, DUI: A person was arrested for hit and run, DUI, resisting arrest and possession of marijuana on southbound I-5 near 185th St. The person refused a blood draw and was booked into Snohomish County Jail.

HIT AND RUN: Someone was involved in a hit and run accident at the Holy Rood Catholic Cemetary in the 19700 block of 1st Ave. N.E.

DUI: Someone was pulled over for lane travel violation and subsequently arrested for DUI in the 16700 block of Aurora Ave. N. The person refused a breath test.

MENTAL COMPLAINTS: Someone was making suicidal threats at Costco.

BIKE STOLEN: Someone stole a custom mountain bike and assorted tools from a home in the 19200 block of 20th Ave. N.W.

MARIJUANA: A male person was rolling a marijuana joint in his car in front of Richmond Beach Park. He claimed to have a doctor's note but couldn't produce it. He was told police that use or display of a joint was a crime. The marijuana was confiscated and he was given a $40 parking ticket.

PROSTITUTION: A man was driving down the 18500 block of Aurora Ave. N. with no headlights and a prostitute, whose activities are well-documented. They gave conflicting statements.

April 30

THEFT: Someone stole prescriptioin medication and pocket knives from a vehicle in the North Haven Apartments in the 19700 block of 15th Ave. N.E.

SMASH AND GRAB: Someone smashed the front passenger window of a vehicle while the victim was inside the school at Mars Hill Church, 2800 N.E. 200th St., dropping off her daughter.

SMASH AND GRAB: Someone broke the passenger front window of a BMW parked in the parking lot of Sears, 15711 Aurora Ave. N.

THREATS: A female student at Highland Terrace Elementary School who lives in the 300 block of N.W. 182nd St. said about April 12 she started receiving some strange and harrassing e-mails on her personal e-mail account and her school's chat room site.

CHECK FRAUD: Someone mailed a victim in the 500 block of N. 179th Place a check 10 times larger than needed and asked the victim to mail the difference to them. 

VEHICLE PROWL: Someone prowled a burgundy 2001 Ford Explorer which was parked and unlocked in the driveway of a residence in the 500 block of N. 155th St. An expensive Pioneer large screen GPS unit with built-in car stereo unit was ripped from the center console.

BURGLARY: A woman was away from her home in the 17100 block of Midvale Ave. N. between 1:15 and 2:45 p.m when someone broke in through her living room window from the backyard with a garden trowel and stole her wallet, some credit cards and jewelry.

May 1

DUI: A driver was arrested at I-5 and 175th St. for driving under the influence. The person had no insurance and expired tabs, and refused a blood alcohol content test.

TRESPASS: Someone who was camping in the woods on the Shoreline Community College campus  in a tent was trespassed.

AUTO THEFT: Someone stole a green, 1995 Honda Accord from the parking lot of the Richmond Highland Apartments, 1000 N. 192nd St. The vehicle had been locked and no other persons had permission to drive it.

FRAUD: Someone opened a fradulent credit account for Best Buy in the name of victim who lived in the 15000 block of 8th Ave. N.E.

PURSE STOLEN: Someone stole a purse at the Drift on Inn Casino on Aurora Ave. N.

ASSAULT: A female person was taken into custody for Domestic Violence/Assault 4 for hitting an individual in the phone and scratching the person's back.
